A Groovy Kind Of Fruit

As I was working on a pair of pineapples the classical way, that 1965 musical piece by Toni Wine and Carole Sager began playing in my ears.  But this was Fruit, you can call it Love if you want – as my knife lovingly sculptured the helical grooves that spiralled down the pineapple, in the process of removing the itch-inducing “eyes”.

I wonder how many people out there among the younger generation know how to groove this way and be fruitful. I tested some folks before and at the end of a grueling battle, all I got was pineapple juice splattered all over the kitchen, and a badly mangled pulp of a carcass. Haiz !
